What level of English is required to participate in the program?
To participate in the program, the level of English must be at least Intermediate. A participant in the internship program in Brazil must be able to communicate fluently and understand English.
Is knowledge of Portuguese required to participate in the program?
This requirement is not mandatory, but will be considered a significant advantage when searching for a meta internship.
Is it difficult to pass an interview that assesses English language proficiency?
Absolutely not! During the language assessment, the conversation is informal and covers general topics — where you study, what subjects you study or studied, why you want to go on the program, whether you have any hobbies, and so on. The interview is conducted with the program sponsor via Skype, with the camera required to be turned on.
How can I pay for the program?
After signing the IEC contract, the enrollment fee of $400 must be paid within 7 calendar days. The second part of the program cost must be paid within 14 calendar days after the sponsor finds an internship placement and the participant confirms the offer.
What is the minimum duration of the program?
The internship period in Brazil is quite flexible, ranging from 1 month to 12 months. It all depends on the employer.
Where will I live during the internship program in Brazil?
If housing is not provided by the employer, the program sponsor is ready to help in finding housing. The cost of housing depends on the city where the internship takes place and on seasonality. Approximate cost from $300 to $900 per month. You can learn more about the cost of this service from an IEC representative.
My friend and I are going together, will it be possible to work in the same city?
This option is possible, but the sponsor does not guarantee it. When applying, you will need to provide the first and last name of the friend you want to go with.
How much will I be able to earn?
Internships can be either paid or unpaid.

When can I fly to Brazil?
Only after obtaining the appropriate visa and agreeing in advance on the arrival date with the program sponsor can you book a ticket to Brazil.
Can I change my employer?
All documents will be issued in the name of a specific employer, which cannot be changed. In case of any disagreements with the employer, participants in the exchange program should contact the sponsor — they will help find the best way out of the situation.
