What level of English is required to participate in the program?
For participation in the program, the level of English must be at least Intermediate. The participant must be able to communicate freely and understand English during the internship.
What level of Spanish is required to participate in the program?
Mexico is a Spanish-speaking country, so if your Spanish level is at least Intermediate, this is a huge advantage for you.
Is it difficult to pass an interview assessing your knowledge of the English language?
It’s very simple! The interview is conducted informally with the program sponsor via Skype, during which the sponsor assesses the participant’s language level, previous experience, and motivation for taking part in the internship. Being able to convincingly answer questions — where you study, what you are studying and/or studied, and why you want to go on the program — is the first step toward successful admission to the program.
How do I pay for the program?
After signing the IEC contract, the entrance fee in the amount of $300 is payable within 7 calendar days. The second part of the program cost is paid within 14 calendar days after the sponsor finds an internship placement and the participant confirms the offer.
What is the duration of the program?
The minimum duration of participation in the program — 3 months, the maximum — up to 6 months.
Is accommodation provided during the program?
Yes, the employer usually provides accommodation in shared apartments with other participants. It all depends on the internship location and the employer.
My friend and I are going together, will it be possible to work in the same city?
This option is possible, but the sponsor does not guarantee it. When applying, you will need to provide the first and last name of the friend you want to travel with.
When can I fly to Mexico?
Purchase tickets only after obtaining electronic entry authorization to the country and after first coordinating the ticket date with the program sponsor.
Can I change my employer?
All documents will be issued in the name of a specific employer who cannot be changed. In the event of any disagreements with the employer, participants in the exchange program must contact the sponsor. Depending on the reason for the disagreement, an appropriate decision will be made.
