What level of English is required to participate in the program?
For the self-arranged internship option, your English knowledge must be at least Intermediate; for the Trainee self-arranged option, it must be at least Upper-Intermediate. In the case of the Premium placement option, the level of English must be no lower than Intermediate. Skills in professional terminology are especially important.
Is it difficult to pass the interview on English language proficiency?
The first step to participate in the program is an interview at the IEC center. The interview is informal, on general topics — where you study, why you want to go on the program, your hobbies, etc.
How to pay for the program?
After signing the contract, the IEC will charge an enrollment fee of 600 USD + 220 USD (Sevis fee) within 7 calendar days. The second part of the program cost is paid within 14 calendar days after the program sponsor enrolls the participant in the program, or a placement is found for the participant.
How is the search for an employer carried out?
In the self-arranged program option, participants independently search for a host company in the USA. Only after finding an employer and providing the internship plan does the application process begin. In the Premium placement option, the sponsor searches for a single internship placement in the hospitality sector.
Can I participate in the program if I previously worked under the Work and Travel program?
In this case, it is prohibited to intern with the same employer with whom you worked in the Work and Travel program.

What is the duration of the program?
Depending on the program option. In the Internship self-arranged program, the duration is from 1 to 12 months. In the Trainee self-arranged program, the duration is from 1 to 18 months. In the Premium placement program, the duration is a minimum and maximum of 12 months.
