Will this be a paid internship?

No, the internship is unpaid, as it is an educational and practical experience. But you get real work with an international company, skills development and a line on your resume.

In which fields is the internship available?

Options are extensive: marketing, HR, PR, journalism, IT, graphic design, business analytics, event management and much more.

Is it necessary to know English?

Yes, at least an upper-intermediate level. It’s important to be able to communicate in writing and verbally — all work and communication with the mentor will be in English.

Which companies participate in the program?

We work with more than 7 000 Australian companies. Matching is done individually — based on your profile.

Will it be necessary to provide a certificate proving language proficiency?

Yes, IELTS or TOEFL.

Is it possible to combine an internship with studies or work?

Yes! A flexible schedule (10–30 hours per week) lets you adapt the internship to your own pace.

How long does the program last?

From 6 to 12 weeks. You choose the duration yourself depending on your goals and how busy you are.

How to pay for the program?

After signing the IEC contract, an entry fee of AUD $600 is payable within 7 calendar days.
After the internship placement is confirmed, the participant makes the second payment for the program.

When to apply for the program?

The Virtual Internship in Australia program is year-round — but documents must be submitted 2 months before the desired start date.

Will I need to have an interview with the employer?

The sponsor is selecting an internship placement that will require a Skype interview.

Is there a list of open positions?

Yes, there is. After you submit your application and we receive your profile, the program sponsor identifies current openings and forwards your resume to potential employers. This allows your qualifications to be matched with companies’ needs as accurately as possible.
