What level of Spanish is required to participate in the program?

To participate in the program, you need to have a Spanish level of B1.

How to pay for the program?

After signing the contract, the IEC will charge an enrollment fee of $300 within 7 calendar days.
The second payment is made before placement in a family — after the participant’s profile is uploaded to the sponsor’s system.

When to apply for the program?

The Volunteer in Chile program is year-round, and documents must be submitted at least 2 months before the desired start date.

Is medical insurance necessary?

Yes. The program sponsor can assist with arranging insurance.

How much will I earn?

Volunteering is unpaid.

Where will I live?

Volunteering is unpaid.

Can I choose the city where I want to do my internship?

Volunteers usually live in families or in a volunteer house.

How many hours per week will the volunteer project be?

You can indicate your preferences, but the program sponsor does not guarantee accommodation in the chosen city.

Can I participate without knowledge of the Spanish language?

The workload is approximately 20-30 hours per week.

Is it necessary to be a student to participate in the volunteer project?

No. Participants must know Spanish at least at the Intermediate level.

How long does the volunteer project last?

No, we invite all those who are 18 years old to participate in our volunteer program. Many projects do not require special knowledge or previous experience, but you must be able to adapt to another culture and be ready to contribute to a good cause.
