The minimum commitment is 1 year. This is also a requirement for obtaining the Z work visa. Programs run year-round, so you can start at any point once your visa is approved.

Not at all. All work in the hotels is conducted in English, and no Chinese language skills are required to join the program. That said, picking up a few words along the way is always a bonus — and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to do so!

Yes. You will receive a monthly salary paid by the host hotel. Accommodation (shared room, hotel staff housing) and three meals per day in the staff cafeteria are also fully covered by the hotel — so your living costs are taken care of from day one.

From the moment you apply to the day you arrive in China, the process takes approximately 3–4 months. This includes placement with a hotel (around 1 month) and visa processing (around 3 months). We recommend starting your application as early as possible.

No prior experience is required. A background in hospitality, tourism, restaurants, or management is definitely an advantage — but what matters most is your attitude: communication skills, a willingness to learn, and an openness to new cultures.

Accommodation is fully provided and paid for by your host hotel. You’ll typically stay in dedicated staff housing — either on-site or in an apartment nearby. Rooms are shared. Meals, Wi-Fi, a uniform, and laundry service are also included.

We do our best to take your preferences into account, but final placement depends on hotel availability at the time of your participation. Placements are available in a wide range of locations — from major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou to the tropical resort island of Hainan — so there’s a great variety to look forward to.

No fixed deadlines — hotels recruit throughout the year, so you can apply at any time. Just keep in mind that the full process takes around 3–4 months, so plan ahead based on when you’d like to start.
