Work and Travel USA program cost calculator
How much can a participant in W&TWork and Travel earn during the summer
The calculator is an attempt to provide a reasonable answer to the question: “How much can a W&T participant earn during the summer?” The form isn’t intended to calculate a participant’s exact final income — its goal is simply to give participants a clearer picture of what to expect in the USA. All figures in the table are for reference and are based on surveys of past participants and legal limits. We don’t recommend basing your expectations solely on the numbers produced by this calculator, since not all factors can be accounted for in this form: English level, competition on the job market, the US economic situation, unforeseen events, overtime pay, tips, tax refunds, housing deposits, etc. Our official stance is that a participant’s wages generally cover the majority of program costs. For more details about participant income and expenses, feel free to ask IEC coordinators.
