What is volunteering?

Volunteering or volunteer activity is socially beneficial work performed voluntarily without expectation of monetary compensation.

Is it safe in Argentina?

As in any country, it is important to observe basic precautions. Avoid unsafe areas, pay close attention to your personal belongings, and follow the coordinators’ advice.

Will there be a salary?

Volunteering is unpaid; it’s work for the idea. Also, in Argentina you’ll be able to meet volunteers from other countries — an intercultural exchange of experience is guaranteed!

What knowledge of languages is required to participate in this program?

Spanish and English.

What should I do if I don’t know Spanish?

The volunteer program in Argentina includes intensive Spanish courses, so it’s not a problem if you don’t have any knowledge of Spanish.

Can I participate in the program without knowing Spanish?

Unfortunately, no. The level of English among Argentinians is very poor.

What level of Spanish is required to participate in the program?

You must have conversational-level Spanish.

I know Spanish well. Can I participate in a volunteer program in Argentina without taking Spanish courses?

Yes, but keep in mind that upon arrival in Argentina there will be an orientation session where your language level will be assessed and, if it proves to be too weak, you’ll have to attend Spanish classes.

I know Spanish well. Can I attend courses for only 2 weeks?

Yes.

Is there any free time?

Yes. Volunteers usually work 4–5 days a week for a few hours a day. You will have time to explore Argentina, travel, and engage in cultural exchange.

Do you need to be a student to participate in the program?

No, we invite anyone who is 18 years old to participate in our volunteer program. Many projects do not require special knowledge or prior experience, however you should be able to adapt to another culture and be prepared to contribute to a good cause.

Can I attend Spanish courses without participating in the volunteer project later?

Yes.

Can I take courses for more than four weeks?

Of course. You can study Spanish as much as you want.

How to pay for the program?

After signing the contract at the Center, the entrance fee of $335 must be paid within 7 calendar days.
The second part of the program is paid after the participant is fully registered in the sponsor’s system.

When to apply for the program?

The Volunteering in Argentina program — year-round. Applications must be submitted at least 2-3 months before the desired start date.

How long can you participate?

The minimum duration of a volunteer project — 4 weeks, and the maximum — 24 weeks.

How is a volunteer project selected?

Your volunteer project will be organized during your 4-week Spanish course.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the language courses?

Yes, of course.

How many working hours will I have and will there be days off?

On average, volunteers work 20-30 hours per week and have two days off per week.

Where will I live?

Usually participants are provided with accommodation with a host family in Argentina or in a volunteer house (depending on the project). This allows them to fully immerse themselves in the country’s culture.

Can I participate in projects together with my friends?

Yes, of course.

What insurance do I need?

We recommend that our participants purchase medical insurance. All details about the insurance will be provided by the IEC office.

Will someone meet me at the airport?

The sponsor meets participants at Córdoba airport. Language courses begin on Mondays, so participants must arrive on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
