Volunteer In Costa Rica: volunteering in Costa Rica
Help save turtles and participate in other environmental projects in Costa Rica, immersing yourself in the local culture.
Costa Rica translates from Spanish as ‘Rich Coast’. Costa Rica is located between Nicaragua and Panama, its length is only 460 km and its width 260 km. You can easily drive across the entire country from border to border in a single day. From a high mountain on a clear day you can see both oceans at once: the Atlantic and the Pacific. Despite the country’s small size, Costa Rica’s nature is very diverse: there are humid tropical rainforests, dry plains, cold misty volcanic summits, hot beaches, and raging rivers with waterfalls. It is a country of eternal summer with an average annual temperature of +25–30 °C. Costa Rica is considered one of the most beautiful countries on the planet… if not the most beautiful. By the way:
In Michael Crichton’s book ‘Jurassic Park’ Costa Rica is used as the setting.
In Costa Rica, every young family without their own home is given a house free of charge.
The country took first place in the 2009 World Happiness Index.
Costa Rica disbanded its army in 1949 and has not participated in military conflicts since.
«Little Costa Rica has everything necessary to become a true factory of dreams: intricate natural landforms, oceans, genuine tropics, and arid regions».
Steven Seagal.
