Animal rescue and rehabilitation
This is a wonderful project aimed at rescuing and rehabilitating animals in Cape Town. The residents live in extreme poverty. and there is a huge problem with stray animals, mainly dogs and cats. Because of the country’s difficult economic and social situation, these animals are often neglected and forced to fend for themselves, which frequently leads to hunger and disease. Because of this problem, an animal rescue and rehabilitation center was established. This center — a non-profit organization that rescues, cares for, and sterilizes stray animals, hoping to find new homes for them. The center can hire only a few permanent staff and relies on volunteers who help carry out daily tasks and provide care for these vulnerable animals.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday from 9:00 to 15:00.
Typical duties:
— feed and play with the animals
— clean dog kennels/cages
— walk the dogs
Social work
This project is aimed at helping children with physical and intellectual disabilities. Volunteers work in state schools and orphanages.
