What level of English is required to participate in the program?
To participate in the program, the level of English should not be lower than Intermediate/Upper-Intermediate. The program participant must be able to communicate and understand English during the internship in Asia.
Is it difficult to pass the interview on English language proficiency?
It’s easy! The interview takes place informally with the program sponsor via Skype. During which the sponsor checks the language level, previous experience, and the participant’s motivation for the internship. The ability to convincingly answer questions — where you study, what you study and/or have studied, why you want to go on the program — is the first step to successful enrollment in the program.
How to pay for the program?
After signing the contract, the IEC will charge an enrollment fee of €400 within 7 calendar days. The second part of the program cost is paid within 14 calendar days after the sponsor finds a job offer and the participant confirms it.
Can I participate in the program for less than 4 months?
The minimum duration of participation in the program is 4 months. This period is not subject to change, as it is established and approved by the program rules set by the sponsor.
How can I find accommodation in Asia if my employer does not provide housing?
In this case, the program sponsor may assist in finding accommodation for an additional fee. The cost depends on the location, duration, and other accommodation conditions. However, the participant must be flexible regarding accommodation. For more information and costs for this service, you can inquire with a IEC representative.
My friend and I are going together; can we work in the same city?
This option is possible for small groups of up to 2-3 participants, but the sponsor does not guarantee it. When registering, you will need to provide the name and surname of your friend you want to travel with.
When can I fly to Asia?
Ticket purchases are only allowed after obtaining a visa and coordinating the ticket dates with the program sponsor. Only after written confirmation from the sponsor can the participant purchase the ticket.
Can I change employers?
All documents will be issued to a specific employer, which cannot be changed. In case of any disagreements with the employer, participants of the exchange program must contact the sponsor. Depending on the reason for the disagreement, an appropriate decision will be made.
