What level of English do I need to participate in the program?
To take part in the program, your English level must be at least Intermediate/Upper-Intermediate. You should be able to communicate confidently and understand English during an internship in Asia.
Is it hard to pass an interview that tests your English?
Easy! The interview is an informal Skype chat with the program sponsor. During the interview, the sponsor checks your language level, past experience, and your motivation for the internship. Being able to answer questions convincingly — where you study, what you’re studying or studied, and why you want to join the program — is the first step toward successful enrollment.
How do I pay for the program?
After you sign the agreement with IEC, you’ll need to pay the registration fee of €400 within 7 calendar days. The second part of the program fee must be paid within 14 calendar days after the sponsor finds a job offer and you confirm it.
Can I participate in the program for less than 4 months?
The minimum participation period is 4 months. It can’t be changed because it’s established and approved by the program sponsor’s rules.
How can I find housing in Asia if my employer doesn’t provide accommodation?
In this case, your program sponsor can help you find accommodation for an additional fee. The cost depends on the location, duration, and other accommodation conditions. However, you’ll need to be flexible about accommodation. For more information and pricing on this service, feel free to ask an IEC representative.
My friend and I are going together. Can we work in the same city?
This option is available for small groups of 2-3 participants, but the sponsor can’t guarantee it. When you register, you’ll need to provide the full name of the friend you’d like to travel with.
When can I fly to Asia?
Buy your tickets only after you receive your visa and have agreed on the travel dates with the program sponsor. You may purchase your ticket only after you receive written confirmation from the sponsor.
Can I change employers?
All documents will be issued for a specific employer and cannot be changed. If a participant has any disagreements with the employer, they should contact the sponsor. An appropriate decision will be made depending on the reason for the disagreement.
