Where does the program take place?

Most jobs are in Buenos Aires, but placements in other cities across Argentina are possible.

How much will I be paid?

This work is unpaid, but the program runs on an exchange model: you’ll provide help in return for room, board, and experience.

Which positions are available?

Most participants work at the front desk, as housekeepers, servers, bartenders, baristas, or cashiers in bars and restaurants.

What level of Spanish do I need to join the program?

To participate in the program, you need at least A2-level Spanish.

What if I don’t speak Spanish?

Participants in the work program have the option to take an intensive Spanish course in Buenos Aires before starting work. An IEC representative will share more details about the courses and pricing.

Is there on-site support and assistance?

Yes, you’ll have a coordinator in Argentina to help you settle in and handle everyday and work-related issues.

Do you need to be a student to join the program?

No — we welcome anyone aged 18 or older to join our work program. The Work & Stay in Argentina program doesn’t require any special skills or previous experience, but you should be able to adapt to a new culture.

How do I pay for the program?

You’ll pay the registration fee of $300 at IEC within 7 calendar days after signing the agreement.
The second part of the program fee is due after you’re fully registered in the sponsor’s system.

When should I apply for the program?

The Work and Stay in Argentina program is available year-round. You should submit your documents at least 2-3 months before your desired start date.

How long can I participate?

The program lasts up to 90 days, with the option to extend the job offer while on site.

Will I need to interview with the employer?

That depends entirely on the employer. Some employers prefer to have a personal chat with the participant before they arrive.

How many hours will I work, and will I have days off?

On average, volunteers work 30 hours per week and have two days off.

Can I go with a friend?

Yes, of course. When you apply, you’ll need to provide the first and last name of the friend you’re traveling with.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the program?

Yes, of course.
