Where does the program take place?

Most job placements are in Buenos Aires, but you may also be placed in other cities across Argentina.

How much will I earn?

Work is unpaid, but the program is based on exchange: you contribute in return for accommodation, meals, and valuable experience.

What positions are available?

Most participants work at reception, in housekeeping (housekeepers), as servers, bartenders, baristas, or cashiers in bars and restaurants.

What level of Spanish do I need to participate in the program?

To join the program, you need at least A2-level Spanish.

What if I don’t know Spanish?

Participants in the work program can take an intensive Spanish course in Buenos Aires before starting work. An IEC representative will tell you more about the courses and their cost.

Is there on-site support and assistance?

Yes, you’ll have a coordinator in Argentina who’ll help you settle in and handle day-to-day and work-related issues.

Do I have to be a student to participate in the program?

No, we welcome anyone who is 18 or older to take part in our work program. The Work and Stay in Argentina program doesn’t require any special skills or previous experience, but you should be able to adapt to a different culture.

How can I pay for the program?

After you sign the agreement at IEC, you’ll need to pay a $300 registration fee within 7 calendar days. The second installment of the program fee is due once you’re fully registered in the sponsor’s system.

When should I apply for the program?

The Work and Stay in Argentina program runs year-round. You should submit your documents at least 2–3 months before your desired start date.

How long can I participate?

The program lasts up to 90 days, and you can extend your job offer while you’re there.

Will I need to have an interview with the employer?

It depends only on the employer. Some employers want to speak with the participant personally before their arrival.

How many working hours will I have, and will I get any days off?

On average, participants work 30 hours a week and have two days off.

Can I go with a friend?

Yes, of course. When you apply, you’ll need to provide the first and last name of the friend you’re traveling with.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the program?

Yes, of course.
