Au Pair in Spain: live and learn in Spain
Spain is a sunny country with friendly and open residents. By participating in the Au Pair in Spain exchange program, you will have a unique opportunity to get to know Spain from the inside. Participants in the Au Pair program in Spain look after children and perform light household chores. Spanish families also welcome it if the Au Pair helps their children improve their English language skills. Therefore, in some cases, there is a possibility to find a potential family with only knowledge of English. However, knowledge of Spanish at a beginner level is a significant advantage. A mandatory condition of the program is that participants must be enrolled in Spanish language courses, which they pay for themselves. Since the primary goal of the program is cultural exchange aimed at learning about Spanish culture and improving or mastering the Spanish language from scratch. Au Pair participants usually work about 25-35 hours a week and receive pocket money of about 70-80 euros per week. The participant is entitled to at least one or even two days off per week. Use this time for travel, language learning, and getting to know the local culture. In the case of a long program lasting up to 1 year, the participant can claim 1 or 2 weeks of vacation. Potential families live in Madrid and its suburbs.
