What level of English is required to participate in the program?

For the counselor position — at least Upper Intermediate, for the support staff — Intermediate.

Is it difficult to pass an interview that tests your knowledge of English?

The first step to participate in the program is an interview at the IEC center.
The interview is informal, covering general topics — where you study, why you want to take part in the program, your hobbies and other things.

How do I pay for the program?

After signing the contract at the Center, the initial fee of USD335 is paid within 7 calendar days. The second part of the program cost is paid within 14 calendar days after, the sponsor finds a camp and the participant confirms this offer.

My friend and I are going together, will it be possible to work in the same city?

Placement in camps depends on the experience and skills of the potential participant.
Therefore, the sponsor does not guarantee placement together with a friend.

Where are children’s camps located in the USA?

For the most part, the camps are located in picturesque forested areas, away from major cities and somewhat cut off from the outside world.

Do you need to be a student to work as a Counselor?

This requirement is not mandatory. Both students and recent graduates with experience working with young people may apply for the position of counselor. For example — teachers, coaches, educators. They should also possess creative and/or athletic skills.

How long does the program last?

The minimum work period is 9 weeks. It is not possible to leave before that period. The earliest start date is early/mid-May, the latest is mid-June. With the possibility of working until the end of August or the beginning of September. Work dates may change depending on the camp’s schedule.
