Internship in the USA: a step towards professional success
In the internship program in the USA, students and graduates aged 18 and older can participate. If the specialty for which the internship is planned does not correspond to the obtained education, at least 5 years of work experience is required. All participants in the internship program must have a good command of English. Especially important are skills and knowledge of professional terminology.
Possible fields of internships include business management, accounting, architecture, finance, tourism and hospitality, media and communications, engineering, marketing, trade, and more.
Recruitment for the program is open year-round, but it is advisable to submit documents 4-6 months before the start date.
Depending on the skills and wishes of the participant, the program is divided into the following options:
1. Self-arranged option: participants are responsible for finding an employer in the USA. After finding an employer and providing a Training Plan, registration for the program and verification of the internship occur. The employer and the proposed internship must meet all program requirements and conditions.
Internship Program — for students from the second to the fifth year and young professionals (those whose degree was obtained no more than 1 year ago). Participants’ ages range from 18 to 27 years. The program duration is from 1 to 12 months.
Practical Training — for those who have already graduated from higher education. Participants must be qualified specialists with at least 1 year of work experience. If they wish to participate in a program in a specialty that does not correspond to their education, they must have at least 5 years of work experience in the desired internship field. Participants’ ages range from 20 to 35 years. The program duration is from 1 to 18 months. Participation in the internship program in the USA will allow you to gain advanced experience, improve your knowledge of English terminology related to your profession, and get acquainted with American business practices and methods.
2. Placement option: the sponsor offers one internship position. The program duration ranges from 1 to 18 months. Participants in the program must have the appropriate education and/or professional experience in the desired internship field.

Requirements
- Age from 18 years to 27 years (Internship option);
- Age from 18 years to 35 years (Practical Training option);
- Language knowledge not lower than Intermediate (especially professional terminology) for the self-arranged Internship option;
- Language knowledge not lower than Upper-Intermediate (especially professional terminology) for the self-arranged Trainee option and Premium placement;
- For those who graduated from university — a specialist with at least 1 year of work experience in their specialization or at least 5 years in the desired internship field not corresponding to education (Practical Training option);
- Students from the second to the fifth year or young specialists with a diploma not older than 1 year (Internship option);
- Internship with the same employer as in the Work and Travel USA program is prohibited;
- In the self-arranged option, having an internship place in the USA that meets all program requirements is mandatory.
Programs have fixed dates. Please check the start date of the selected program with the IEC coordinator. Program duration – from 1 week to 3 years, depending on the selected program. The documents should be submitted 4-6 months before the program start date.
