TEFL in Thailand: become an English teacher
The International Exchange Center offers a program for those who would like to work as a teacher in Thailand.
The TEFL course can be taken in Chiang Mai, Thailand, over 4 weeks. The course is designed for both experienced teachers and those with no teaching experience. Students study subjects necessary for teaching English abroad: vocabulary, grammar, phonetics of the English language, basics of teaching practice, and others. Additionally, the course includes practical tips on conducting classes, identifying common mistakes, and reviews of lessons from experienced teachers.
Upon completion of the course, participants receive an internationally recognized TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification. This certificate has international recognition and can subsequently be used when seeking employment as an English teacher abroad in Thailand and other countries or online.
The International Exchange Center offers 2 program options:
1) 4 Weeks TEFL — training over 4 weeks. The program starts every month. The training takes place in Chiang Mai.
2) TEFL Internship — training over 2 weeks and a 4-5 month internship. The TEFL certification is issued only after successfully completing the internship.
After successfully obtaining the certificate, the program sponsor will assist in finding a job.

Requirements
- From 18 years. For the TEFL Internship option: from 21 to 45 years.
- Higher education diploma
- English level: advanced English language skills, equivalent to 5.5 points on the IELTS scale. For the TEFL Internship option: IELTS equivalent to 7 points.
Programs have fixed dates. Please check the start date of the selected program with the IEC coordinator. Program duration – from 1 week to 3 years, depending on the selected program. The documents should be submitted 4-6 months before the program start date.
