Au Pair in Germany: Language and new experiences!
Au Pair in Germany — an exchange program for participants aged 18-26 who wish to gain a unique experience working with children in Germany for 10-12 months. Participants look after children of German families and also perform light household work, but no more than 30 hours per week. The terms for participants in this program in Germany are very attractive. Pocket money starts at EUR 280 per month, and the host family also provides free accommodation and meals. As part of the program, participants attend German language courses which they pay for themselves. However, the host family is willing to partially cover the cost of tuition (about EUR 50 per month). Course fees range from EUR 150-200 for 1 month (depending on the region). To work in Germany under the Au Pair program, a good knowledge of the German language is required (not below the Intermediate level). An Au Pair is entitled to 1-2 days off per week and 4 weeks of paid vacation per year. Female participants of the Au Pair program receive the documents necessary for temporary work in Germany.
