Au Pair in Germany: Language and New Experiences!
Au Pair in Germany — a cultural exchange program for participants aged 18–26 who want to gain a unique experience working with children in Germany for 10–12 months. Participants care for children in German host families and also perform light household duties, but no more than 30 hours per week. Conditions for participants in this program in Germany are very attractive. The stipend starts at 280 EUR per month, and the host family provides free room and board. As part of the program, participants attend German language courses at their own expense. However, the host family may be willing to partially cover the course costs (about 50 EUR per month). Course fees range from 150–200 EUR per month (depending on the region). To work in Germany on the Au Pair program, a good knowledge of German is required (not below Intermediate). Au Pairs are entitled to 1–2 days off per week and 4 weeks of paid vacation per year. Au Pair participants receive the documents necessary for temporary work in Germany.
