Work and Travel USA is an international exchange program for students.
By joining, you’ll spend the whole summer in the USA, working in service jobs alongside American peers. Positions for international students open up during the US tourist season, when shops, cafes, hotels, and amusement parks need extra staff.
Work and Travel USA is a cultural exchange where you’ll practice your English, learn about the country’s culture, and travel.
Since 1992, more than 110,000 students have taken part in the program.

You’ll be immersed in an English-speaking environment all summer. It’s the best way to practice conversational English and an investment in a successful future in your studies and career.
A basic level is enough to participate. If you need to brush up, we offer a free online English course.
You can rent a house near the ocean for a group, or a cozy apartment on a quiet American street.
Participants rent homes, apartments, or a private room. Rent ranges from $60 to $120 per week.

Requirements
- Ages 18 and up
- English level: Intermediate or higher (depending on the program)
- An international language certificate is preferred.
- Creative portfolio
- CV and cover letter
- Letters of recommendation
- Opportunity to interview with an academy representative
Programs have fixed dates. Confirm the start date of your chosen program with the IEC coordinator. Program duration ranges from 1 week to 3 years, depending on the program. Submit your documents 4-6 months before the program start date.
